Valentine's Day

Yesterday afternoon I went out to the front hall to get matches to re-start the wood stove that I had let burn completely out. (I let it go on purpose, because it was warm in the house, and I could clean out all the ashes that way.) Anyway, I got most of the way over to where the matches were, and saw a UPS truck in the driveway and the delivery man and Daisy at a standstill at the line of her invisible fence.

I opened the front door and called Daisy inside so the delivery man could get to me. He was bringing me roses that Phil had ordered for me for Valentines Day! I completely forgot about the matches.

The instructions in the box said to trim the stems and put the roses in water with the plant food, and they'd perk up after about 12 hours. The timing was perfect, because walking down the stairs this morning, one of the first things I saw was a beautiful dozen roses, just in that slightly-open-bud stage that is so pretty. I'm not even sure if he did it on purpose or not, but the colors of the roses are gorgeous. They're not red...they're a mix of colors, which I think are even better than red most of the time.

I have such a sweet hubby.

I spent a good portion of yesterday hunting down the parts for his Valentines day surprise. Hopefully, everything will work right when I assemble it today. Pictures will follow...after he gets it.
